christmas in july

hello...

after the storms and beachcombing trips last week i have a good supply of driftwood drying out all over our place. these are some trees i had fun making for a beachy christmas in july.
*

* i made the background for this tree with recycled boards
   painted white
* secured the driftwood branches using strong glue
* glued shells and seaglass decorations and starfish on top



    * * *




    this driftwood tree doubles as a jewellery hanger 
     * i tied the branches together using string 
     * filled the small bowl with silocon to secure the tree  
     * glued the starfish to the top 
     * then filled the top of the bowl with small shells




      * * *



      natural finds lying around  


      an artwork in itself

        What a wonderful way to use those pieces. We've been saving ours to make a fish I saw somewhere, but maybe I'll have to change our minds!

        You're so incredibly talented....love your driftwood trees and on my trip to Stradbroke in March I collected driftwood to do something similar for Christmas too.

        I love the second last image the best of all the different pieces used and think the image itself is very artistic....good onya! xx

        I love your work! Love, Love, Love! There is a store not to far from where I live that had some driftwood Christmas trees that were selling for the pretty penny of $38 for the small and up to $50 for the large. The small (drying) out on the driveway and wondered what I could do with them. THIS is what I will do! I grabbed your button and can't wait to get to you know better!!
