surfing sydney harbour

hi everyone..

something good came from a horrendous week of weather. a huge swell hitting our coastline and entering the harbour.
this only happens a few times a year and the feeling of excitement was contagious. word quickly spread and the crowd grew bigger. neilsen park's usually calm water was packed and resembled bondi on a busy day. with the city in the background only a short distance away this is a sight to see.

you can just see the tip of sydney harbour bridge above the headland

not sure if the middle guy was meaning to surf backwards?

hanging out on the rope which holds the shark nets in summer

then it was over to bondi beach - a whitewash

the power of the ocean

i love big swell days.

  5. That surf looks so rough! I'm glad that everyone was able to get out and enjoy some sunshine...not sure if I could brave the cold like that though!

Hope the weather is better for you this week.

    Best wishes,
