this is another piece of furniture i'm liking a whole lot more now it's white. i thought about painting these vintage drawers blue or aqua, but sophie convinced me to keep everything white. she was right.
guess who took a liking to this as soon as the quilt went on?
before..
Everything looks so much fresher with a coat of white paint. The perfect spot to take a nap for your cat.

Definately a positive change, and can't say I blame that gorgeous cat a bit for curling up on such a cosy looking quilt.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous styling, simple and sweet, a touch of vintage. I am loving painted furniture right now, infact this week I'll be posting a wardrobe makeover in a little boys room. I hope you pop on over to my blog and say hi, you will enjoy my fibro beach shack makeover. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteFresh and lovely! Your blog is beautiful! Visitng from the Shabbilicious link party. Going to peek around here now :)

How are you doing that? I'm a novice. Is it paintbrush, or spray paint? I know people who have had good luck on wicker or wrought iron with spray paint; I imagine for wood furniture, you're using a brush. What a huge improvement over the old piece! I love how you decorate; it's not overdone, and it's enough to calm the eye rather than having to jump over too many objects in a room, which is the opposite of "restful." Just LOVE your blog; it's so soothing.
ReplyDeleteThe chest of drawers looks lovely painted white and the quilt on top finishes it off beautifully. I have a pine ottoman that I plan to paint. I want to bring it down from the bedroom and use it in the hall instead with a nice handmade patchwork cushion on top.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! I love that little clock on the chair! Where did you get that sweet gem? It's too cool.

ReplyDeleteIt certainly does look nice white. Thanks for sharing on Shabbilicious Friday.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE white but I am always scared to paint a "vintage" piece. This was such a great transformation, you inspired me to paint a dresser I have!
