Do you ever wonder why a walk or swim at the beach makes you feel so good? I know it always lifts my mood and makes me feel more positive. The negative ions near the water have lots of benefits and did you know that having sunshine on your skin increases serotonin and endorphins in the brain?
Combined with a walk or a swim a trip to the beach is not only fun it boosts your physical and emotional wellbeing. I guess you already knew that anyway.
We're enjoying holidaying in our own town and exploring beaches off our beaten track and away from holiday crowds. Calm and sheltered, this is a perfect spot for beachcombing.
How's your holiday going?
Very pretty images, have a great new year.

thanks karen :) happy new year to you too!
DeleteI always love your beach photos and I really enjoyed reading your post today. My hubby and I were having this discussion today. We always feel refreshed after spending time at the beach but also, just being outside in the sun some every day gives us a boost. I read your post out loud to my hubby! Great minds think alike! heehee! Holiday hugs!
ReplyDeleteit's interesting isn't it? maybe we all need a bit more sunlight in our lives. x
DeleteBeautiful photos Cheryl x
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd love a walk on the beach about right now. It's cold here, and we are snuggled in by a cozy fire. I grew up near the beach, but have lived inland since the later 60s. One of my favorite activities is to walk a beach with the sand between my toes. Thanks for the virtual stroll......Happy New Year........Sarah
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a lovely spot to be in. Your photos are truly stunning! I love the weather beaten steeple!
ReplyDeleteLiving in the Seattle area of Washington... I am so envious of you and your fabulous weather!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, I totally agree with you and as someone who lives a couple of hundred meters from the beach there's nothing better than getting down there and feeling the sun and water on your skin....it boosts your mood, appetite and lots of other benefits too....Dr's havenow said that not getting enough sun can lead to depression as people don't get enough seratonin released from the vitamin D that we need...they also say people who live where it's less sunny are more inclined to develop S.A.D.S or seasonal atmospheric depression syndrome...once again due to lack os sun, vitamin D and seratonin.....isn't it amazing how nature knows what we need to keep us balanced......xo
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful.. the beach is my happy place.. I am most me beside it
