this lovely statue stands at the entrance to the pool in memory of Mina Wiley who, along with Fanny Durack, were australia’s first two female olympic swimming representatives.

the first gold and silver swimming medals for a women’s event in the history of the olympics went to Durack and Wylie.

hello..

usually in an aqua, green, blue mood, craving cool colours.. today i'm feeling like a touch of pink to warm things up.

island style

india hicks harbour island home/s in the caribbean have to be my all time favourite coastal interiors. we've all seen it before but i doubt there are any of us who don't admire her simple, elegant style.
casual and classic with the all white walls and shelving, timber floors, a look that never dates.  
        

with all of her properties available to rent i think this is a dream holiday location.

simple things

it's the simple things that bring us the most happiness. stopping to smell the roses. today it was finding these pretty camellias on my way back from the beach, putting them in vintage bottles to make our place prettier, and loving the combination of aqua glass, soft pink and white.  

remember to stop and smell the roses.
