one of my first ever posts almost a year ago was called big swell. i took you along my favourite part of the sydney coast, the spectacular bronte to bondi walk.
so here we are again one year later. a most stunning day, sparkling sea and a huge swell hitting the coast at a beach renowned for big waves.
the best way out for surfers is over the back of the pool. a bit of a wait for the lull between sets. the other way out.. get a ride on a jet ski.
one of those days when you realise
it's great to be alive!

I once saw the funniest thing at Bronte Beach in a big surf. An older guy was standing up on the headland at the southern end of the beach having his photo taken. A wave rose up and licked the top of his balding head, giving him a comb over. He was practically dry everywhere except for the top of his head. Looks like they close it off these days with those big gates, in big surf
ReplyDeleteI love your shots of the surfers around the pool.
SPECTACULAR! Wow, I especially love the bike shot. I tell you everytime I come to your blog it is indeed a mini-vacay. Have a great week!
ReplyDeletelove seeing your side of the planet~
ReplyDeleteYes I'd just seen them & still have it open to show my husband when he gets into the office - he's a mad keen surfer which was part of the Bondi attraction. He thought the swell was mammoth & couldn't believe people were surfing it! We loved that walk - watching most of the surfers getting creamed! Totally spectacular!!! Great photos too! Loved Camilla too...loved everything!
