driftwood love

there's nothing more beautiful that what's found in nature & something i do like about winter is scouring deserted beaches and the rocky coast for pieces of weather beaten driftwood washed ashore.

i love the natural sun bleached tones in our mostly white coastal abode & i like how it looks stored in hessian bags and old boxes. steve enjoys helping me find it & does most of the drilling when i make mobiles. i thread each piece onto natural cord then glue on some shells and starfish. that's teamwork! ;)

do you love driftwood?

  18. I love driftwood and I need to collect some more. I live on Long Island, New York and we have a ton of beaches along the north shore and south shore. I have the mobiles you have made. What a great idea. I just use mine around the house at little pieces of decor, but I think I need a mobile like yours. Thanks for sharing. I'm your newest follower. :)

  19. I love driftwood since my Dad found me a piece of wood in the shape of a dolphin on the coast in Denmark. It hung on my bedroom wall for most of my childhood. I love your collection.
