First thing in the morning is the best time at the beach, especially around Christmas time when the tide is extra high and the water is extra clear.
What better way to start the day and the year?
This is the old entry to Giles Baths. On the inside wall is a memorial to the many local people who tragically lost their lives in the Bali bombings.
A mostly natural rock pool, this is a great spot for our morning swim. The water is perfectly clear with waves crashing over the side & is surrounded by sandstone cliffs.
It was used by male swimmers only in the nineteenth century, these days it's open to everyone, no charge. A women's only pool located at the opposite end of the beach still operates. A beautiful rock pool that has survived unisex times, where it still costs only 20 cents to swim.
Gorgeous photos!

The downfall to getting your beautiful blog in my e-mail is I forget to come back and comment. These are some of my favorite shots of yours. The ocean in Austraila is beautiful so much more than ours.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all your beachy shots at this time of year. I've never been to either pool. The natural one you depict looks wonderful.
