vintage coastal find

Back to reality this week and a roadside find. I wasn't sure about this old thing when my partner brought it home. It sat outside on our front verandah gathering dust for a while and nearly ended up back where it came from.
I wondered whether to go for white or turquoise, I think it would have looked ok either way, but it was fun to paint something a bright colour for a change. With a few repairs and a few coats of paint, the colour I mixed myself, it's hardly recognisable.

.

I found this cute crochet bag at a vintage shop in Surry Hills at a $10 basement sale last week. The hanging vases came from a florist for only $15, and the white daisies are cheering us up on the first days of winter.

The top drawer had green felt and sections for cutlery, so I guess this was a piece from a dining room.

before..

Have a great week!

  3. It looks amazing! Do you think it might have been a jewelry armoire? Some of them have felt in the drawers. I love the crochet bag! I wonder if I could make one...when I get better at crochet! heehee! Sweet hugs!
