hi everyone..
there are certain things in life you can never have enough of. some would say shoes or handbags. for me it's old ladders, old jars and bottles, wooden boxes and shutters. practical, portable and full of rustic charm.
my sister recently gave me this old beauty to add to my collection. i love it out on our deck but i'm sure it will be put to lots of other uses around this old place.
here's a simple way to light up a balcony...
a rustic old ladder, some jars of flowers, a couple of potted plants and candles.

I Love your ladder Cheryl and how you have spruced it.. I've always wanted one in the bathroom to hold towels etc but have never had the room...
ReplyDeleteI'd say the things I can't get enough of are candlestick, mercury glass and silver of any form... although I recently had to throw out quite a few of the collection..
Hope you had a lovely weekend.. ciao xxx Julie
How pretty. I've always wanted an old ladder.
ReplyDeleteDropping by from Met Monday. I hope you'll come see the safari nursery.

It looks gorgeous with all of the candles lit!

Your ladder looks great Cheryl. I can never have enough of too many interiors books and I tend to collect too many chairs and any sort of pendant lighting. Anything rustic and charming. Leahxx
ReplyDeletethat is so charming! Perfectly lovely combination of pretties :)
ReplyDeleteGreat use of an old ladder! So inviting!! Visiting from Debbie's Blog Party!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT idea!! I have a very similar ladder in my back yard next my gazebo. I bolted three pots (one on each step) and put flowers in them but the candles -- that's brilliant!! (No pun intended!)
ReplyDeleteLove This Idea! Wonderful..I love that it is a ladder that can still be used for its buety and to be useful

So beautiful Cheryl, love the flowers in the jar. I bet it is very relaxing.
ReplyDeleteI can never have too many oars it seems, I am a bit addicted. :) That and seashells and driftwood.

I love this idea! have to keep my eyes open for a rustic ladder. Although we have always wind, so what I can have on the porch is very limited.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until school is out for the summer so I can relax and finish reading your lovely blog from post to post. The ladder idea is adorable. Looking forward to many more visits.
ReplyDeleteYour list of loves is almost identical to mine Cheryl. Old bottles and jars have become a bit of an addiction. My husband thinks I have a bit of a problem!

Definitely charming! I have one of those old wooden ladders that I should retire from use (probably not the safest) & give it a new purpose.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!! I would love for you to link up tomorrow to "It's a Party"!

Hi! I wanted to let you know I featured this on my blog today -- I'm sorry I don't have a 'featured' button yet but I wanted to let you know anyway! http://mywonderfullymade.blogspot.com/2011/06/outdoor-lighting-fun.html
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun piece and I love the way you have it decorated. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI found one of these ladders last summer at a secondhand shop for $5. I bought a can of primer and some fuchsia spray paint. It is now my summertime plant stand on my deck. It adds a nice punch of color and looks wonderful out there. I am hoping to find more of these ladders for outdoor decorating.
ReplyDeletelooks so pretty. love the way you decorated it.
