home to the famous sydney to hobart yacht race, a gruelling 630 nautical miles (1,170 km), this yacht club will soon be busy in the lead up to the start on boxing day.. the harbour will be packed with boats of all shapes & sizes & vantage points around the harbour full of spectators.

When we lived in Sydney, my husband used to do some twilight sailing on Ragamuffin - that's showing our age a bit!
ReplyDeleteLove Rushcutters Bay.

Just beautiful. My aunt owned a marina when I was a kid, and I would sit on the docks for hours watching the boats come and go.
ReplyDeleteMy first home was a boat so I love knocking around any marina just to look at all the boats. That is the bluest water ever. Sydney is on my bucket list to visit. (& Byron Bay, Christmas Island, Brisbane, Melbourne... :D)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos... there is just something about boats.....
ReplyDeleteIt looks so idyllic and the sky and sea is so incredibly blue! I would love to be in Sydney right now enjoying summer, it's still a little windy and rainy here in Auckland! xo K
ReplyDeleteThe bridge shot is perfect for framing!
ReplyDeleteI love your pics so calming, something about the being on the water does that. Thanks for sharing. Whilst I am here I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and thank you for your heartening comments at my place from time to time. I look forward to engaging more in 2012. Take care. ReplyDeleteBeautiful blues, something we're a bit short of so far this summer, far too much grey about, doesn't really feel like it can be nearly Christmas.
ReplyDeletemmmmmm more beautiful pics to tease me whilst I am sitting here working :) How gorgeous are those houses!
ReplyDeleteSo good to actually see the sun on the harbour after all this rain! We finally got around to buying a boat this year but have been washed out nearly every weekend! Lovely photos!

I've come over a few times from My Romantic Home because your photos are mesmerizing. I'm from Southern California USA and a beach community, but I've never seen sky and water so blue and beautiful as Sydney. I would so, so love to visit Australia one day. Thank you for the lovely glimpses; how lucky you are to live there! I think the "penthouse" in the one building you showcase is to-die-for...the picket fence, umbrella table and greenery! I'll take it! I spotted it in your photos last week and was so glad you were able to get a close-up. In a "high rise," how great to have a bit of "dirt & grass & yard" you can walk out on to from high above. Love it. Your blog is so enjoyable. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe beauty is overwhelming! The colors are so vivid. The water is such a rich blue. Thanks for sharing! This may the only way I ever see Australia.
