cottages by the sea

hello.. how are you all?

autumn sure has arrived with cold nights but clear days. enjoying the lack of crowds at the beach, definitely one of the positives about cooler weather.
this is somewhere i've taken you before in the early days of the blog. once an old fishermans' village near the entrance to sydney harbour. a gorgeous day, sun shining through the old trees, birds singing & some of my favourite seaside cottages.
every time i go here i especially fall in love with the charcoal weatherboard, as you can probably tell.

  3. Love this area, and know it well. We were married at The Rocks and had our reception at Dunbar House. We also spent many an afternoon at the beach after lunch at Doyle's. Yum! xx

  7. They're all amazing. So great to see all the original features, details and character. Such a shame these are becoming rarer in our world today. What more do we need? Love, Pxxx

  12. Popped in on a whim and here you are...your break was very short! These are your usual wonderful, clear, enjoyable photos. Although I have never been there (to my regret), some of these cottages remind me of others I've seen of Key West, Florida in the U.S. Charming; lots of character. There's nothing quite so sad to me as a boring, monotone, plain or barely-tended home exterior...and you can't beat nice curb appeal. Gosh, your photos make me want to visit Sydney SO badly; what a great place!

  15. Oh Cheryl,

To live by the sea - how I wish!

I grew up on an island, but now the last 20+ years have lived landlocked.......it's hard to get rid of the love of water, even after all these years.
