the old man and the sea

I love the salt crusted older men and women who congregate at the life saving clubs or at the end of the beach.
What a relaxing way to spend the day, swimming & soaking up the views. I've always thought this is what i'd like to be doing in my old age.

So excited to be heading off to Byron Bay in a few days :)
Look forward to blogging from there next week.

Enjoy your weekend!

  6. The kids and I have often laughed at seeing a bronzed behind waltzing along a path near the beach, looking 22 then got past and found the face looks 82...keep putting the moisturisers on all you beach babes! I've got to say though, that the lifestyle is great isn't it!

  11. how wonderful Cheryl. You will have a great time for sure. We were married on the beach there at 7am. stunning. Hopefully you'll have time to go out to Bangalow too. A precious little town, fantastic bakery, and my favourite shop Millar and Moore. It's up a flight of stairs not far from bakery. Also go around the corner to the old second hand yard, and the little shop a few doors back from it. I sound like a local don't I?!?! wish i was. If you're into vegetarian, there was (not sure if its still there) a great little place in Byron called the Cardamon Pod. Also highly recommend Why Not cafe. Jules the guy who runs it (if he still does) did our wedding brunch out at Ewingsdale at his Fig Tree Restaurant. ooooh.. i want to go to Byron tooooo! hugs, have fun. one more thing,.. if you walk from the main beach all the way around to The Pass (big rock with lookout you can climb) and it's where they launch the dive boats... if you go up the stairs beside the beach there is a yummy cafe, The Pass Cafe. 17. Lovely pictures of the sea this week, have a great holiday! The old men and the sea over here are more likely to be fishermen with woolly jumpers!
