beach christmas

it's a bit early to be talking about christmas but with the sweltering weather this week it feels like christmas already.  the only kind of white christmas we have here in australia is beachy white. today i decorated the driftwood tree i made in july with seashell decorations i made. it's the kind of tree i like having all year round.

you might remember this from the christmas in july post.
these trees have been very popular on pinterest. the larger one is in my etsy shop. the smaller one also makes a good jewellery hanger.

these are some cute starfish decorations i made yesterday for my shop. i'll definitely be keeping some for myself..i'm looking forward to decorating another tree with these. another decoration i'm happy to have hanging around all year. see them here.

what kind of christmas will you be having?

  1. These shell decorations are so sweet! Love the beach tree idea! Something for summer lovers indeed! Much love, Xo

  2. Morning Cheryl- I love that you say it's sweltering and therefore already feels like Christmas to you!

We've had snowy Christmases here for almost four years- and still a little bit of heat reminds me of Christmas like no amount of snow can!

I adore your tree's - in fact i *pinned* the first pickie on my pinterest!

love the white and feelings of home- thanks

  3. I absolutely love it :) Maybe I'll make one. Ordinary trees are so boring... :)

  4. I love the star fish ornaments. Those are so cute.

I really haven't thought of Christmas here yet. Not sure what we will be doing this year. I do know that now that I am in a much smaller place the tree size will change considerably. :)

  5. LOVE these!!! I have some driftwood that I hope to make a tree out of...hope too is the key word. :) Your starfish are so cute!

  6. Gorgeous decorations! I'm loving your etsy shop. Is there any chance of you selling faux starfish decorations in the future?

  7. so cute... one thing for sure is we won't be having a sweltering christmas!

  8. I think that would be a perfect Christmas tree for the boat!

Thanks again for stopping by my blog,
    Sar x

  9. oh my oh my. you're killing me with lovely--just gorgeous and inspirational pieces. bravo!

  10. I love your seashell/driftwood trees, Cheryl - I wish we lived closed so I could come over and steal {I mean, borrow} one from you! LOL!

Seriously, we are having a simple Holiday this year...focusing on the simplicity of the beach lifestyle...enjoying the stormy weather, good memories, hot cocoa & stuff.

Hope you're having a great weekend.

  11. I love the driftwood trees!

I will be having a blue & white Christmas - my tree is generally filled with Lladro and Wedgwood Jasperware ornaments.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  12. You know, I love your tree! I made one..., I think it's gonna be a wall mounted tree... still have to figure out how I'm going to decorate it, but it's basically done.

  13. I love the christmas tree one!!! My husband and I are trying to get to Australia one of these days....I have a price alert on Kayak, so as soon as they get cheap enough we will buy tickets...

  14. love, love love the Christmas shell tree, I've put it on my Xmas wish list. You are very creative Cheryl and so lucky to live by the sea..
