look what i found on a quick visit to ikea this week.
a $20 bistro chair. maybe they've had these for a while but it's the first time i've seen them.
i realised you can go in the back way at the new ikea to the homewares & outdoor section if you don't have the time or energy to walk the full 2.5 km!

this is what it looked like before i painted it.
i also like these chairs in mint green or aqua, so it was a tough decision.
white won out again.
what's your favourite ikea find?
happy weekend!

Great find! I have seen them in Ike's relatively new outdoor area furniture section, but didn't know they were only $20! Kate x
ReplyDeletei think i'll be going back for more x
DeleteMy LATEST favorite IKEA find are some blue polka-dot pillow covers. I'm obsessed with blue polka-dots. And IKEA
ReplyDeleteLove those chairs in white. They just may become my next favorite find.
Thanks~
Mary
i don't think i've seen those. sounds nice mary :)
DeleteLooks fabulous! I have to say I love the Expedit in both my boys rooms for storing books and toys on. I also love the blue polka dot cushion covers, so cute! x
ReplyDeletei like those shelves too, great for your kids rooms & the cushions sound great x
DeleteWe don't have one single IKEA in the whole state of Oklahoma. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteBrenda
shame :(
DeleteWe're IKEA lovers here, and it's just down the road! Last weekend we bought an Expedit in red, perfect match for the couch in the TV room. We always seem to spend hours there, even when it's a quick visit. It even has it's own post on my blog!
ReplyDeletelucky to have it down the road!

Great find! I have to say I find Ikea overwhelming and rarely go, unless I know specifically what I want. When I see what others buy I think I should go more, but then I think about navigating my way through the maze and I can't do it!! x
ReplyDeleteyou can always go in the back way to the homewares section. not quite so overwhelming. x
DeleteWe currently have the biggest Ikea in Canada here in Ottawa - but soon that honour will go to Montreal. I don't go to Ikea often - when I do, it's usually to buy frames. Which are right before the warehouse & cashes, so I go through in reverse instead of walking all the way through the store :-)
ReplyDeletewow , it must be enormous!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to IKEA but keep telling myself I must go. Lovely little chair you have there. The white is perfect.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite ikea buys have been the byholma baskets & white enamel jugs... can't believe I missed these bistro chairs! Definately going next week to get some! Thanks so much for sharing xKerry
ReplyDeleteThe bistro chair is great and it looks so much better painted white. Great job. I have to be in the mood to go to Ikea. Usually I buy the small decor items, but I am seriously considering the white Ektorp slip cover sofa for my family room. I like the idea that you can wash the covers.
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteIt looks soooooo much better. Great job.
I think I love my Norden Dining Table the best......
I love the white Ektorp sofas too......even though I am yet to own a pair ;o)

I don't have any Ikea furniture, but after checking out Lisbeth's new furniture in The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, I would really like having some.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how comfy bistro chairs are, but I love the look! like it even more since you painted it!
You have a good eye. The bistro chair looks great in white. They should sell it in white also. I didn't know they carried frames, too. I haven't been there in so long.
ReplyDeletedon't tease me- I wish I lived closer to IKEA!
ReplyDeleteooh I'm there!
ReplyDeletethanks

Me again! I just wanted you to know that I featured you on my blog today, of blogs I'm loving right now.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Beautiful. I love the chair in white.
ReplyDeleteI love it in white!! I saw these a couple of weeks ago on my first trip to the 'new' Tempe store - the matching tables are cute too. Was interested to see quite a few French themed items including an absolutely gorgeous iron bed - white of course!! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely and I get you about the 2.5km but personally "window shopping" is my kind of exercise. Heading over to like you as DE and Carolyn. Apologies for not doing it sooner. I lost you when I rearranged my Facebook set up and will rectify now.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Carolyn
I love it in white the transformation is amazing!

I WISH there was an Ikea where I live. :( You can't go wrong with white; your chair looks great!:)
ReplyDeleteAnd the daisies are pretty too! Thanks for joining my party!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Love it painted white and with the daisies. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI was at Ikea last week and saw those chairs and the bistro table. Would have purchased them, but I want a round table. Love how you refinished the chair! Pretty! Stopping by from Wow Us Wed.
ReplyDeleteLOVE! :)

Your chair came out great! So cute, and really like how it looks with the flowers
ReplyDeleteand lantern on it as well.
Blessings, Nellie
I saw those at IKEA last weekend, but never thought to paint them! Great idea, and thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great chair! Love it in white!
ReplyDeleteThe closest IKEA to me is about 3 1/2 hours away so I don't get there very often. I do love it though.
Nice visiting with you.
Love it white. Love Ikea too, I always go down to the basement, I never enjoy touring the whole place.
ReplyDeleteI think the most favourite thing I've bought there so far,is a lovely stainless steel saucepan that is the shape of an egg with the domed lid. It's wonderful. It has a concave thick base which goes flat when its heated and concave when it cools down. I cook a whole chicken on top of the stove in it. Going there this weekend to look for bed linen. I've never bought linen there before, but have heard it's good. xo
So pretty...Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that the closest Ikea is 1 hour away. I got in a visit to Ikea at the beginning of summer and picked up some fun dishes, vases and a great piece of fabric. I love the little chair you found.
ReplyDeletebeachy keen! ;}
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Love this in white. I found an amazing chair at Goodwill for $5.00. I want to paint it white. What kind of paint did you use...different for wooden areas and the steel frame? Thanks!! Love your blog.
