natural cold relief

hi everyone..

i'm finally feeling slightly more alive after the flu followed by bronchitis. not much fun! spring can't come quickly enough.

we're really not very good at dealing with winter in this part of the world. winter is short, so we just grin (& groan) & bear it without a lot of heating.

this is something that can help relieve colds, flu & bronchial symptoms & boost immunity.
it's been getting a workout here at our place.

juice of 1/2 lemon
2 teaspoons honey
about 2 cm piece of ginger grated
2 cloves garlic finely chopped
2 teaspoons honey
2 cups boiling water

adjust amounts to your taste

i make mine in this infuser teapot
it can also be made in a saucepan
steep for at least 5 minutes

keep well!

  1. Hope your feeling better soon! That's my stand by for colds too! Just saw a post that also used 3 cardomon pods, cinnamon stick and a rosemary sprig as well- going to try that next time I am sick!

I didn't realise you were still so unwell......I hope you're feeling better soon.
Have you read the new Home Beautiful yet, that might provide a nice relaxing distraction? I think Real Living might be on it's way soon too!!! ;o)

How are you doing? It's been a long time since my last wisit here, but I have been so tired and "busy". But now, I live in Torrevieja, spain.. So now I can enjoy beach, sun, palms, and the sea.. And also the inspiration here on your blog! :)

  8. Isn't winter all about staying on top of things and fighting off the colds and flus. I kind of get really scared of public places this time of the year...I have been getting this on/off dripping throat thing for a few weeks now, and it feels like I have one foot on the brake at all times just so I dont go over the edge!! Hope you feel better soon.x
