blogging

You never know where blogging will take you.

Many years ago when I was working at a fairly remote 2 teacher school on the Snowy River in the high country of NSW, I remember telling my class they would soon be able to talk to kids in other schools on the school computer via something called a "modem".

It was amazing and exciting at the time pre internet. My daughter was born not long after, and a few years later her brother arrived. The first generation to grow up with a mouse in their hand.

Fast forward 20 something years, the internet has changed our lives. It still amazes me that I can talk to people all over the world, in different time zones, different seasons and share the things we made or found.

Anyway.. getting to the point of this post, I wanted to thank SEW Magazine UK for sharing my beach hut tutorial in the latest issue. Never would I have thought something I sewed would end up in a sewing magazine!

A while back I was contacted by the editor of a Canadian magazine, I think it was Canadian Cottage, who wanted to include my driftwood boats in one of their issues. I'm not sure when this will be happening.

So.. you never know where the internet and blogging will take you.

Where has it taken you?

And.... The winner of the giveaway is Diane Lavender Dreams.
Congratulations!

Thanks so much for all your entries and shares!

  2. We have come a long way since that first e-mail was sent just as we did when Bell made his first phone call.

I missed your little hut post. How exciting to be included in two different magazine. Who knows where it will lead you?

My husband was painting in his studio one day when a call came in from an ad agency. They had seen his website and were representing a winery that wanted to use his paintings as labels. That would never have happened if not for the internet. And, our lives were literally changed forever because of that transaction.

    Good luck!
